"n/a" expanded for insurance policy field suppression;

The use of lowercase n/a (without quotation marks) has been expanded to support all insurance payer types, not limited to Medicare and Medicaid payers.  The policy number field has also been modified to support the n/a type.

Using the capital letters N/A will print N/A on the form or in the disk image content.  This feature is case-sensitive.

This feature is supported in all claim form types, including but not limited to CMS-1500, EClaims EDI Image and Internet Disk Image.

The purpose of n/a is to satisfy the pre-billing report that mandatory (dark navy blue) field screening information has been acknowledged but is required to be blank.  Passing the insurance pre-billing screening report is a prerequisite for creating claims in the Insurance Manager.

Note that for the Patient->Create Quick Claims->Pre-billing Bypass it is not necessary to satisfy all dark navy blue fields.  Sometimes referred to as "walkaway" claim, a pre-billing bypass insurance claim is provided at patient checkout as a value-added convenience to a cash patient who is filing his or her own insurance claims.  This is a common strategy for cash-only healthcare facilities.
