MyEMR for the Pocket PC Product Release Notes
– October 2004 4Q2004
For the benefit of all products, a searchable online
Frequently Asked Question (FAQ)
for non-technical has been added. Users are invited to
participate, particularly in the FAQ
forum for training level questions.
The user's Verbiage Exchange
forum has been added to encourage users to exchange and share their verbiage
customizations. Users are required to register, and they receive a
randomly generated password to complete their login process. Users must
provide a valid e-mail address. Any difficulties with the
Verbiage Exchange forum should
be directed to
support@softwaremotif.com.
A multi-select but independent sentence home instructions & patient
counseling window has been added to the additional plan window. This is a
multi-select window as seen in other areas of the software, however, the
verbiage it generates creates randomized, independent sentences with merge
variable support. Samples are posted for those who register on the user
Verbiage Exchange forum.
Similarly, a multi-select but independent sentence listbox has been added for
work hardening verbiage.
Response to treatment with merge variable verbiage support has been added in
the additional plan window on the Pocket PC. Verbiage examples are posted
for those who register on the user
Verbiage Exchange forum at
http://www.softwaremotif.com/forum/
For those who add verbiage descriptions to their orthopedic/neurological
exams using the Pocket PC Exam Designer, the exam description precedes the test
results, with merge variable support. Sample are provided for those who
register on the Verbiage Exchange
forum.
A user now has the ability to save a blank orthopedic/neurological exam
record on the Pocket PC. This previously required at least one test to
exist before saving the record, but the modification is necessary for the
purpose of clearing sample data or backdating purposes.
The MFCSetup.exe software on the Pocket PC is now automatically removed when
MyEMR is launched, as its components are included with the MyEMR.exe executable
file. The MFCSetup.exe file is now obsolete.
Globally shared subjective lead-in phrases are added to the subjective
window. The physician has the option to include the subjective complaint
statuses after the lead-in phrases. This may be used for describing an
overall exacerbation, overall improvement of all symptoms, language for
maintenance on asymptomatic treatments, or whatever your practice style
suggests.

Phrases
See

Verbiage Exchange forum.
The last visit is added to the home window when displaying and switching
between patients "In Treatment", and takes into consideration non-sequential
visit backdating.
Default visit type preference is added to the Pocket PC's
Home->Preferences->Document menu. For example, you may elect to switch
from "E/M Level 2" to "Routine Office Visit" or "ROV".
Verbiage transfer from the desktop to the Pocket PC is now performed by
using:
Start->All Programs->Software Motif->MyEMR Pocket
PC Verbiage Refresh
Default provider initials or digital signature can now be reset to be blank,
if desired for switching treating physicians.
Patient subjective complaints, for a new patient, default to a status of
"Routine & Initial ¶", rather than "New Patient¶".
Superfluous date of "0000-00-00" is no longer created during a backdating
session.
Muscle grading "snap" behavior modified to work as designed for the Pocket PC
2002 and higher operating systems.
User Preferences added spinal grouping to either include the full spine as a
single entity or 5 distinct regions for text generation purposes. The
factory default behavior is for the text engine to generate 5 distinct spinal
regions.

– July 2004 3Q2004
Auto-Doc data conversion to convert all SOAP notes and narratives is now
complete.
The numerical pain scale now has the value of "0" removed, and the dropdown
box incrementing bug (a result of that change) is now corrected.

– April 2004 2Q2004
The ClearOS.exe (whereas "OS" represents "object store") has been modified to
support clearing the object store of the Pocket PC 2003 operating system.
The main MyEMR program has been modified for compatibility with the Pocket PC
2003 operating system. The noticable change in behavior is when a user
presses the "X" in the upper left-hand corner of the Pocket PC, you can choose
Start->MyEMR from the menu and MyEMR will appear in the foreground as you left
it running. Prior to this change, Pocket PC 2003 users had to go to the
Control Panel, Memory, Running Programs and "Activate" MyEMR.
The numerical pain scale and percentage improved findings have been made more
strict for text generation. Erroneous values that have been synchronized
from the desktop are ignored. Only valid values are generated. The
value of "0" has been removed from the numerical pain scale, in consideration of
the the "<blank>" option for that finding.
The "refresh local verbiage" is now sensed and managed automatically.
Upon installation, there is no need for a user to manually choose "refresh local
verbaige". Hereafter, the only case where a user should refresh the local
verbiage on the Pocket PC is after making subjective verbiage changes.
Patients "in treatment": When patients are checked-in, this is now
saved in the object store of the Pocket PC. If MyEMR for the Pocket PC is
closed, the Pocket PC is reset, the patients checked-in will remain as
checked-in after restarting MyEMR or restarting the Pocket PC.
Non-factory default installations: The SetMyEMRDatabase utility that
allows users to re-direct ActiveSync to a non-factory default database location
has now been changed for Windows XP compatibility.
